Microsoft published a Roadmap for the future of Application Center 2000 a few months back. It’s quite interesting reading for current users of AppCenter 2000.
We have done a significant amount of scenario research to understand both how customers are using Application Center, and the capabilities available in other Microsoft® products and components that can deliver on the Application Center scenarios. This functionality will be delivered through a combination of the System Center family of products and the core Windows® Application Server platform.

A while back Scott Forsyth wrote this great article on how to use DFS in Windows Server 2003 R2 for content replication in a webfarm.
At ORCS Web, we’ve recently started to use DFS for some of our high availability offerings that use a central NAS (Network Attached Storage) content server. We’re using DFS for handling the content server, both for replication and for automatic failover to a backup server in the event of maintenance or a server failure.

Scott Forsyth has written a great article on using the built-in IISCnfg tool for IIS Metabase replication.
Microsoft provides a tool called IISCnfg for management of the Internet Information Services (IIS) Settings. One of the features that this includes is the ability to replicate the IIS settings from one server to another. This is useful in a webfarm environment where you require all web servers to be in sync.

Stumpled across this mod_rewrite for IIS 6.0, I haven’t tried it myself yet. But if you are interested in a FREE URL Rewriter for IIS, this might be a good option?
IIRF is a small, cheap, easy to use, URL rewriting ISAPI filter that combines a good price (free!) with good features. It is reasonably fast, and reasonably powerful. You can get the source code to inspect it or modify it yourself if you desire. If you use IIS, you can download IIRF and get started right now. Or, Visit the IIRF Forums to ask a question.
